OCHOA CAZARES, René; NARVAEZ CORONA, René Gabriel  y  BAZALDUA CHEDA, Héctor Mauricio. Trichyleal cyst simulating a villonodular synovitis. Acta méd. Grupo Ángeles [online]. 2020, vol.18, n.3, pp.306-308.  Epub 31-Mayo-2022. ISSN 1870-7203.  https://doi.org/10.35366/95410.

The following case report is about an 87 year old male that develops a solid mass on his left shoulder 6 months prior to his visit to the doctor’s office. The mass is nodular, non-ulcerated, pigmented, subcutaneous, and solid. It is studied with sonography, revealing an articular origin. An excisional biopsy is performed and the histopathological study shows a trichilemmal cyst, completely removed. The trichilemmal cyst is a solid mass arising from the external sheath of the hair follicle.

Palabras llave : Trichilemmal cyst; villonodular synovitis; shoulder joint.
