Resumen
OCAMPO RUIZ, Ernesto. Nanotechnology applied to Architecture: The architectonic research of new materials and constructive systems as a break out in the creation of new labor niches for the architect. Nova scientia [online]. 2011, vol.3, n.5, pp.179-193. ISSN 2007-0705.
In a discipline that historically stands far from the scientific and technological work that benefits to itself, a real architectonic research of new and emerging materials and building systems shows up as it offers significant career perspectives to expand development opportunities and trigger the creation of new employment niches that the 21st century architect can seize and exploit. In addition to exploring the recent development and operation of nanostructured ceramics for emerging architectural applications in Mexico, we analyze present and future of our discipline, its technological dimension threatened with extinction, the consequential loss of employment niches for the guild, the need of multi and transdisciplinary working, and what architectural technology opens as a new vision of professional performance in the future of architecture.
