TRUJILLO SAMAYOA, Ruber; RANGEL MARTINEZ, Yamile  y  CASTANEDA NOLASCO, Gabriel. Potential green roof, to save electricity by air conditioning in the building. Nova scientia [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.15, pp.577-596. ISSN 2007-0705.

Introduction:

In Mexico and in the world, more than three quarters of the inputs used in the production of electricity from non-renewable sources, in a reality where the roofs of buildings are responsible for a significant consumption of electricity air conditioner. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate the thermal aspect and efficiency in electricity consumption of two air conditioners placed under the reinforced concrete roof and green roof, and also use analytical geometry as an analytical tool in the electricity consumption.

Method:

Although initially the methodology of dynamic weather, was developed for thermal analysis, this work was resumed to apply to electricity consumption and together with the support of analytic geometry, through equations line representing annual averages, evidenced differences in consumption.

Results:

The results show that green roof absorbs better outside temperatures, reduced thermal oscillation; in electricity consumption, with an average difference of 28%, the Green Roof less electricity consumed by air conditioning.

Discussion or conclusion:

should show that the use of green roofs in the study site and possible application in other contexts. The work was done in periods of opposite extreme temperatures, winter 2014 and spring 2015.

Palabras llave : Green roof; envelope; building; adaptation to the context.
