Resumen

TORRES-GARCIA, Becky E. et al. Seedcase position in the plant and nutraceuticals compounds content in beans grain. Rev. Mex. Cienc. Agríc [online]. 2012, vol.3, n.7, pp.1435-1440. ISSN 2007-0934.

Common bean grain is a source of biological active compounds such as condensed tannins the anthocyanins and soluble phenols. Beans present a great variation in the content of these compounds. The objective was to determine the variation in the content of condensed tannins, the anthocyanins and soluble phenols in a mass population through analyzing seeds obtained from different and defined phenological stages by the position of the nodes and its mixture from five plants and five positions in the plant. The seeds of Negro 8025 and Alubia Chica Zacatecas were used. Condensed tannins (CT), total anthocyanins (TA) and soluble phenols (SP) were determined. The content of these compounds was increased in the seed of the nodes according to its higher position in the plant, with the exception of the CT in the variety Alubia Chica. The average content per plant of the three selected compounds resulted in significantly higher compared with Negro 8025 compared to Alubia Chica (958 vs 57.8 in CT; 114.3 vs 4.2 in TA and 550 vs 278.6 in SP). The confidence intervals of the ranges were identified on the content of the three compounds in the varieties for varietal description and to study the segregation in progenies derived from the varieties studied.
