Resumen

HERNANDEZ, Mario A.; AMADOR, Alfredo; SANCHEZ, Sonia T.  y  SOLERA, Abel. Integrated Water Management in the Tambula-Picachos Sub-Basin, Guanajuato, Mexico. Tecnol. cienc. agua [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.6, pp.159-165. ISSN 2007-2422.

Due to its geographical, climatic and development in regions such as central and northern Mexico there's a serious problem of water availability, being the exploitation of aquifers, the main source of supply. The integration of support systems in decision making has as main function to assist the manager in the decision making process, facilitating the transmission of information and generation of new ideas. The support system Aquatool Software is a tool to generate and discuss current and future scenarios on the management of water availability within the study area. With the knowledge of surface and subsurface hydrological functioning of the Sub-basin Támbula-Picachos, Guanajuato, and its associated aquifers, through the adaptation and use of mathematical models capable of modeling together the flow of water into a basin, it is possible to have an overview of the assessment of water resources in a territory, and its operation in terms of exploitation and renewal.

Palabras llave : Integrated water management; watershed; aquifer; sustainable exploitation; hydrological processes; management scenarios; sub-basin Támbula-Picachos.
