As the curtain fell on his incredible life, there was a general sense of admiration for the personality and career of Sergio Arturo Montero Alarcón. He was a pioneer, founder and master builder of Restoration in Mexico and stands out for his exceptional leadership, impact, and influence in the spheres of culture and its heritages, their conservation and their dissemination. In this inaugural issue of the new era of Intervención, some words are dedicated to the person who will continue to be not only one of the greats in the field of conservation-restoration in Latin America, with more than 45 years of work at the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH), but, above all, a leading authority in the academic field, since for four decades he was a distinguished teacher and was highly respected and deeply loved at INAH’s Escuela Nacional de Conservación, Restauración y Museografía (ENCRyM).
