ZAMORA, Abel J.; LOPEZ, Martha E.; VILA, Javier  y  CABRERA, Rosalva. Amount, Site and Time to Determine Searching Food Strategies in Pigeons. Acta de investigación psicol [online]. 2012, vol.2, n.3, pp.858-867. ISSN 2007-4719.

This experiment evaluated searching food pattern in pigeons exposed jointly to variation in amount of food by patch, location of patch and time as between these variations as choice between patches. Two groups of subjects (n=4) were exposed to rich patch in a time 1 and a poor patch in time 2, both in different location; in a choice test, the subjects in a group were exposed to both patches inmediately that time 2 was concluded, whereas subjects another group were exposed after 24 hours; in this test was evaluated which patch was prefer. Another two groups were exposed in both times to poor patches, each in different location; the test was inmediate or subject of a group and after 24 h for subjects of another group. The subjects of the group exposed in first time to a rich patch and evaluated in choice test after 24h showed preference for this patch, whereas the subjects of another groups were indifferent between two patches. This data can be explained for the Temporal Weighting Rule (TWR).
