Roberta Garza’s book, titled Mark Me, Master. The true story of Keith Reniere and her Mexican slaves (Garza, 2019), can be taken as an analyzer in which different genealogies converge and as one of the most extreme ways of that “species” of invariant called crush. Invariant that the psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan set in the following brilliant formulation: “love is to offer what one does not have to someone who is not what one thinks [or is not what one is supposed to]” (Roudinesco, 1988: 334).
