LILOFF, Gustavo Adolfo y ORTEGA RUBI, María Estela. Social representations about teaching in virtual environments: latin american teachers in the context of a pandemic. A multi-methodological approach. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.31, 00006. Epub 21-Abr-2023. ISSN 2007-8110.
The goal of our study was to identify the structure and content of teachers’ social representations of teaching in virtual environments during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the explanation attributed to them. The research design is non-experimental, exploratory, with a descriptive scheme of the cross-sectional type. The sample was made up of 136 teachers from 10 Latin American countries. Among the findings, an organization of social representation with a strong identity role of teachers is made explicit, whose core is centered on the vocational figure, in which teaching in a virtual environment, unfamiliar, is a challenge and an opportunity, at the same time stressful, where the urgency established by the pandemic acts as a determining variable displacing the centrality of the teaching process itself.
