Resumen
ECHEVERRI LONDONO, Carlos Alberto. The use of energy and air pollution. Case study: Valle de Aburrá (Antioquia, Colombia), 2015. Cienc. ergo-sum [online]. 2022, vol.29, n.3, e171. Epub 20-Oct-2023. ISSN 2395-8782. https://doi.org/10.30878/ces.v29n3a5.
The objective is to quantify the forms of energy that feed the Aburrá Valley, as well as to characterize the generation of pollutants. The calorific values of the fuels were used to estimate the energy supply they provide and emission factors to estimate the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere.. In the case of Valle de Aburrá, the current energy supply is based on 81,4% of non-renewable resources. The transport and industrial sectors are the largest consumers of energy, with a participation of 45,4% and 34,9% of the total energy consumed in the Aburrá Valley. The transport sector is the main responsible for the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere.
