The article analyses professional attitudes regarding publicly funded assisted reproduction treatment (ART) in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since 2013 the country has one of the most advanced legislations in the world regarding assisted reproduction. It guarantees free access to ART to everyone who needs it, regardless of sexual orientation or partnership status. Semistructured interviews were carried out with professionals in charge of providing treatment (PRA) and of ensuring the institutional conditions of provision (PCI). The study sought to understand professional attitudes towards: 1) the provision of treatment using donated gametes, and, 2) access to treatment by women with no partner, same sex couples and women who have surpassed their fertile period. Results show professional ambivalences towards gamete and embryo donation, particularly in relation the exchange of money. The study also shows the slow incorporation of the language of rights to promote and ensure access to ARTs to groups defined by legislation.
