The present work talks about the implementation of innovative techniques in the design of reticles of editorial letter for the Áurea Magazine: design + art. When applied to graphic design students, not only got their attention, but they really got involved in the project. In this experimental research, students were inspired to carry out the sketching and reticular proposals from elements of nature that were selected from photographs of animals that presented contrast of colors, visual textures and geometrically structured shapes.

One of the main difficulties faced by students during this research project was to carry out the process to discard the images, since from them it is possible to make endless proposals based on creativity. However, the number of elements of the editorial letter was considered to define which proposal could be more functional than others.

The results show that attractive, unique and, above all, functional designs can be obtained, using geometrization as a tool of editorial design to achieve a fluid narrative of the linguistic content of the descriptive letter, which favors dialogue between the reader and the product.
