The present text analyzes, from the concepts of multinaturalism and cosmopolitics, the Otomi theories of miracle and relief, which are essential with regard to explaining the shamanic system in the Sierra de Las Cruces and Montealto, in the State of Mexico. This mountainous range forms part of a chain that divides the Valley of Toluca from the Basin of the Valley of Mexico, and has presented a constant ecclesiastical presence for five centuries, with significant effects on the said system.
