This article presents the results of a research that analyzed the experience of outgoing mobility from three dimensions or conditioning factors: socio-historical, institutional, and personal, in the students of the area of education of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Mexico. The study was qualitative-inductive through semi-structured interviews. The analysis of these narratives helped in understanding the lived experience. The results showed two personal conditioning factors that intervened in mobility: affective and economic support; in the socio-historical dimension, internationalization policies and intercultural relations; and in the institutional dimension it revealed the need to make the curriculum more flexible and provide academic support. The study revealed that students are promoters and managers of outgoing mobility processes. The findings lead us to reflect on the institutional mechanisms to stimulate and support outgoing mobility and recognize the personal and intercultural richness that can be achieved.
