LOPEZ-QUITERIO, Alma Epifanía y PENA ISLAS, Dalia. The Master’s Degree in Intercultural Education at the National Pedagogical University Unit 131. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2023, vol.53, n.3, pp.693-712. Epub 06-Oct-2023. ISSN 2448-878X. https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2023.53.3.568.
This paper presents the experience of curriculum design of the Master in Intercultural Education (MIE). The objective of this work is to share the process, socialize the results, and if necessary, propose an alternative to the dissemination of indigenous knowledge in the university and the strengthening of postgraduate programs with an intercultural approach. The work was conducted from an autoethnographic approach which allowed us to describe and analyze the personal experience we had in the design of the Master’s Degree in Intercultural Education (MEI). We point out in the results that, although the design focuses particularly on addressing the cultural and linguistic diversity of the indigenous population in the state of Hidalgo from a critical position of interculturality; this program can propitiate intercultural relations with other non-indigenous societies through the promotion of equitable social relations by conceiving other ways of educating. In addition, the design approach of the MIE is flexible to educational, social, economic, political, and contextual changes.
