Resumen
HERRERA TERRAZAS, Luis. Remediation of contaminated soil in urban voids of former industrial use in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Academia XXII [online]. 2023, vol.14, n.27, pp.60-83. Epub 18-Jun-2024. ISSN 2594-083X. https://doi.org/10.22201/fa.2007252xp.2023.27.85745.
Urban voids can be spaces of opportunity to stop the growth of cities; however, they are not adequately used. Some of these sites are contaminated due to the previous dumping of hazardous materials, thus creating soil contamination; these spaces are referred to as "brownfields." This type of soil requires a remeasurement process to correct its condition and prevent any health dangers to future occupants. The aim of this text is to identify the "brownfields” in a specific area of Ciudad Juarez, in Chihuahua State (Mexico), and present a remediation option, with a view to generating benefits of urban regeneration, increased profitability, and social improvements.
