JIMENEZ ROSAS, Eric Orlando y LARRUCEA GARRITZ, Amaya. Landscape from confinement. Expectations, preferences, and emotions. Academia XXII [online]. 2023, vol.14, n.27, pp.169-194. Epub 18-Jun-2024. ISSN 2594-083X. https://doi.org/10.22201/fa.2007252xp.2023.27.85760.
In Mexico City, strict confinement conditions were experienced during the Covid 19 pandemic. By way of a survey, the feelings experienced by 2,474 inhabitants during the pandemic were researched in 2020, 2021, and 2022, along with the preferences and expectations of the participants with regard to a variety of spaces and landscapes. The survey results showed a prevalence of negative feelings, though some positive ones were also reported. Landscapes with biophilic characteristics were preferred, and it is expected that they will provide restorative benefits to both mental and physical health. The implications of landscapes that promote the resilience and well-being of people during periods of confinement are also discussed.
