QUIROA HERRERA, Jaime Andrés; GONZALEZ CALDERON, Alleck Johnnathan y VILLANUEVA SOLIS, Jorge. Climate vulnerability and housing in arid zones: first approaches in Torreon, Coahuila. Academia XXII [online]. 2023, vol.14, n.27, pp.242-260. Epub 18-Jun-2024. ISSN 2594-083X. https://doi.org/10.22201/fa.2007252xp.2023.27.85765.
The main aim of this work is to identify, and contrast, whether or no there are vulnerability conditions, according to the air and external surface temperatures recorded at the houses analyzed in the study area. For this work, the "Risk and Vulnerability Assessment," proposed by the United Nations to assess Climate Vulnerability, is taken as a methodological reference; data collection of air and surface temperatures outside six selected homes was carried out, and the results were then compared with each other, to identify if there are elements of vulnerability in hot locations. The results show that, according to the cases analyzed, there are elements to affirm that vulnerability does exist, depending on the temperatures, and that it may increase if the climate change scenarios for the region are taken into account.
