In the last decades, several studies have showed that Spanish monarchy required many added contributions from its vassals on both sides of the Atlantic to finance its defense expenses generated by their wars against France and England from 1780-1813. In this paper, our attention focus on a peripheral province of the monarchy in America, the intendancy of Chiapas, and We shall study the collection of donations and loans to cover the deficit of the imperial treasury during the last years of the colonial age.
