Resumen
LOPEZ WARIO, Luis Alberto. Salvage Archaeology and Construction Programs in Mexico. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2016, vol.37, n.148, pp.101-129. ISSN 2448-7554.
The institutional and social practice of archaeology in Mexico focuses on research and the safeguarding of archeological remains, which are understood as a national resource; this, because the discipline maintains a deep sense of the nation's heritage. But archaeological labors involving the country's historical and archeological patrimony are profoundly affected by agents both natural and social. The latter category emerges primarily in the context of large-scale infrastructure projects that are promoted on the basis of political decisions and judgments that reflect the priorities of Mexico's six-year presidencies.
