GALIETA NASCIMENTO, Tatiana y VON LINSINGEN, Irlan. Articulações entre o enfoque CTS e a pedagogia de Paulo Freire como base para o ensino de ciências. Convergencia [online]. 2006, vol.13, n.42, pp.95-116. ISSN 2448-5799.
In this paper we present the Science, Technology and Society (STS) approach and the Paulo Freire's philosophy of education and their relations hips. We explore three points of convergence without necessarily to exhaust the possibilities of articulation between these pedagogical theories. These points are not handling in an isolated way since they certainly have connections and dialogue with each other. They are: (i) the thematical approach and the selection of didactical material; (ii) the interdisciplinary perspective of the pedagogical work and its role in the teacher formation; (iii) the role of the teacher in the process of teach and learning and in the formation of citizens. We understand that this proposal of articulation benefits both: to the STS approach is provided a solid and coherent educational basis - some that not always is present in their proposals - and on the other hand to the Freire's method (and its applications to the science teaching) by creating opportunity of discuss topical themes with social, politics and economics dimension, especially in the context of science and technology education.
