CHEN, Yin-Zu. Campaña contra mortalidad materna: un análisis de las estrategias discursivas feministas en Perú. La ventana [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.37, pp.231-261. ISSN 1405-9436.
This study analyzes the discursive strategies of the Maternal Mortality Campaign, organized by the feminist movement to demand reproductive self-determination in the peruvian socio-politic context. The frames of campaign link political opportunities and collective actions and therefore, influence the public debate and political results; meanwhile the discursive dynamic was conditioned by the power relation between the participants in the public sphere. The results reveal that the discourse of maternal mortality allowed the introduction of gender perspective into the public health issues because it was based on the traditional values, but these values limit, at the same time, the construction of women as an autonomous subject. In confrontation with intervention from the conservative sector and the state, the feminist argumentation in the public sphere suffered changes that caused unexpected results.
