This article presents the results of a study about images of teaching done with 178 students in the city of Buenos Aires. The main goals of this project were: a) to explore gender dynamics in teacher education programs; b) to investigate the images of teaching and the pedagogical imagination of future teachers; and c) to explore how the future teachers understood the concepts of vocation and authority.
