Resumen
SALIM, Silvia Raquel. Motivations, Learning Approaches and Educational Strategies in Students of Biochemistry of a Public Argentine University. REDIE [online]. 2006, vol.8, n.1, pp.1-17. ISSN 1607-4041.
The aim of the present paper is to understand the way how university students learn and to comprehend their motivations and learning strategies at the time they decide to study a career. We used a combined investigative design: qualitative and quantitative. We applied the CEPEA questionnaire for the evaluation of learning and studying processes to students of Biochemistry attending the National University of Tucumán (Argentine) and performed individual semi structured interviews. The cluster analysis permitted to identify three groups of students that have differences in their learning approaches: deep, superficial and ambivalent. We found that learning approaches are closely related with some teaching practises that encourage or inhibit them such as the way students are examined.
