SANCHEZ DROMUNDO, Rosalba Angélica. Bourdieu's Fields Theory, as a Theoric Scheme to Analyse the Graduating Process in Graduate Education. REDIE [online]. 2007, vol.9, n.1, pp.1-21. ISSN 1607-4041.
The article shows a scheme for the analysis of the graduation. This plan is the result of an investigation Pedagogy Master degree at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México students' graduation in 2003.The theoretical support comes from two sources: Arredondo y Sánchez Puentes (2000 and 2004), who affirms that the graduation is a formation process that initiates with the incorporation to the program and culminates when the degree is obtained; and Bourdieu who helps to understand the factors that affect integration through concepts like field, cultural capital and habitus. The empirical data comes from interviews to students, graduated students, tutor, and the graduate program staff. The article emphasizes the way in which the cultural capital and habitus affect the education and impede the graduation, and exposes some of the mechanisms of exclusion in the educational processes.
