Alumni monitoring studies are essential for assessing the appropriateness of academic programs offered by an institution. These kinds of studies are designed to provide feedback on the curriculum and to assess the institution. With this in mind, this work focuses on a diagnosis of public high schools alumni in the State of Mexico (more specifically, from the Tlalnepantla municipality), regarding their academic training and their relation with professional and work performance. An exploratory research was deployed, which specified their current occupation; it is a descriptive, research as well, providing data about the means used for work insertion, people's continuity in higher education and their satisfaction level regarding the education services they experienced. The study was designed to be transversal, with data collected in a specific time via a 44 question inquiry applied to 65 alumni. Results showed that alumni consider that the education they received provided them with the necessary competencies for their development in various academic and professional fields.
