This article presents a series of phenomenological and hermeneutical considerations on the meaning of university teacher training in order to expose some of the trends required by this sector, given the requirements of the XXI century. It is a fact that the University as an institution is a community in permanent crisis and that crisis is its way of living while moving towards the search for a pedagogical model that allows the formation and transmission of cultural values and principles; However, the university teaching practice has tended mostly almost exclusively to learning techniques and procedures typical of a given discipline, not always with the most innovative didactic methods.
