This paper contributes to analize new forms of indian territorialization in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, through the celebrations of mayan rituals in the main water springs of the city at the beginning of may. These ceremonies, which are described etnographically, constitute forms of indian appropriation and simbolic cultural reconstitution of urban space. They revive a sacred geography that validates customary law practices which regulates the use and control of water in the mayan highlands of Chiapas. K’in Kruz rituals are performed by a heterogenous indian Population from different religions in alliance with civil o and members of San Cristobal Diocese, guidelined by an indian teology and The Land Pastoral of Catholic Church.
