Objective:
To understand the process of changes and restructuring that impacted on the diet and habitus of the interviewees, this text explains the construction of the eating practices of a migrant locality that experienced forced mobility and refuge in the cross-border zone between Guatemala and Mexico.
Methodology:
The theoretical-methodological basis, is made up of interviews with different generations, and the theory of capitals, by Pierre Bourdieu.
Results:
This presents an approach to the main elements that allowed the construction of their eating practices from their departure from Guatemala to the present time.
Limitations:
Although it only analyzes one family, its study allowed us to understand some of the main elements of the process described.
Conclusions:
From this exercise it is concluded that both subjective and objective structures condition cultural production regarding food practices.
