Indigenous groups suffer from serious lags in their minimum well-being, due to their low income and deficient social coverage, which translated into a higher fatality rate from the pandemic, even though the contagion has been less than in the urban population due to their lesser communication, their dispersion and their lesser mobility. However, the social representations of indigenous people about COVID-19 and their marginalization and distrust of the government led them to a social perception of risk that underestimated its seriousness. For the rest, their resilience to the pandemic was manifested through the use of traditional medicine and sanitary cordons around their communities to control the arrival of outsiders. These themes are developed in the work in five topics: the effects of the pandemic on the indigenous population, their risk and vulnerability, returned indigenous migrants and the pandemic, social perception of risk, and resilience of indigenous peoples.
