MASSINI CORREAS, Carlos I.. Sobre la significación y designación de las normas: La contribución de Georges Kalinowski a la semántica normativa. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2003, vol.36, n.106, pp.65-94. ISSN 2448-4873.
In this essay, the author examines the different philosophical schools of thought that explain the relationship between language and norms, distinguishing between the sociological approach; the approach according to which norms are equal to language; and the semantic perspective, in which the notions of meaning and designation are crucial. In this way, the author explains Kalinowksis proposal, stressing the distinction between meaning, understood as the function of linguistic signs in connection with thought, and designation, understood as the function of a great number of linguistic signs in connection with real entities. Lastly, after a critical examination of Kalinowskis proposal, the author develops a synthesis which allows him to conclude that conceptions about what is just or unjust do not depend on human subjectivity, but are connected to real and objective structures which trascend the subject.
