Resumen
GONZALEZ MUNIZ, Eduardo. En torno al análisis de los valores en antropología: el caso de la etnografía en situación colonial. Nueva antropol [online]. 2011, vol.24, n.74, pp.159-180. ISSN 0185-0636.
Ethnographic research carried out within the context of colonial expansion is one of the most controversial periods in the history of anthropological science. Due to the prevailing definition of scientific "objectivity" as "axiological neutrality," ethnographers dealing with colonial situations have failed to identify their own research goals as concrete modes of epistemic values or to take into account their conditioning according to their own cultural tradition as non-epistemic values when shaping their ethnographic practice. An analysis of specific episodes within the historical development of anthropology, based on the notion of "axiological dimensions," enables us to reconsider the ways in which that discipline is intertwined with its social and cultural context.
