This article is based on the premises of the anthropology of politics to analyze the tensions over the "political" category of a particular event: the result of my Master's thesis during a meeting with members of a "piquetero" (picketing) organization. Discussion focuses on what is understood by "politics," which yields discrepancies. Stemming from such disagreement I review some assumptions in the academic discussion on picketers, as developed after the "December 2001 surprise," exploring some turning points experienced by organizations since that time.
