This paper proposes a methodology to determine an attenuation relation to estimate the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) by analyzing a trajectory based on multiple linear regressions. Unlike studies that determine attenuation relations using several trajectories at once, this study focuses on the delimitation of seismic risk that centers on both the ground stratigraphy and the seismic source direction. This methodology was applied to the Guerrero-Querétaro trajectory from records of seismic stations that define the trajectory. Six earthquakes were analyzed: the first one occurred in 1993 (Mw = 6.6), two in 2009 (Mw = 5.2 and 5.6) and three other smaller magnitude earthquakes occurred in 2010 (Mw = 4.3, 4.7 and 4.9). A total of 16 seismic records, including the first seismic signals recorded in Querétaro city, were considered. These earthquakes occurred in the Mexican Pacific subduction zone; their source was in the state of Guerrero and all of them presented interplate seismicity characteristics. With respect to previous research, the results show variations attributed to: 1) the analysis of only one trajectory and 2) the inclusion of seismic records in Querétaro (area within of the Mexican Volcanic Belt, MVB), which have amplitudes that are consistent with a slow fall but not an amplification of the ground.
