This article analyzes the work with the bare hand developed since the 1950s by Mane Bernardo and Sarah Bianchi, and which led to the formation of a technique called hand pantomime. The limits of the traditional definition of puppet and the practices it encompasses, will be examined, along with the notion of experimentation proposed by Bernardo, marked by the tensions between tradition and modernity. This seeks to place this experience among those that contributed to the modernization of the puppet theatre in Argentina.
