TELLO DIAZ, Carlos. The colonization of the coast of Jalisco: 1953-1959. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.140, pp.267-293. ISSN 2448-7554.
This study describes the period 1953-59, when the colonization of the Coast of Jalisco was consolidated, propelled by then governor Agustín Yáñez with the support of the entity that he created to fulfill this goal; namely, the Comisión de Planeación de la Costa de Jalisco, which was coordinated by one of his closest associates, José Rogelio Álvarez. That process of colonization was consolidated, above all, through infrastructure projects like the construction of highways and ports, including such important landmarks as the city of Barra de Navidad, conceived by the architect, Teodoro González de León.
