In recent years, it seems that in response to the increasing levels of violence in Mexico people are generating new modalities of behavior. However, because they are born of fear, many of these novel behaviors have distorted foundations, a fact that obliges us to inquire into postulates that, like Elster's proposal, seek to correct such errors by striving to ensure that our actions have increasingly conscious and rational bases.
