This is a bibliographical essay about the Hispanic mercury trade from the 16th to 18th centuries that proposes a model of the quicksilver trade built around the Commodity Chains Methodology. The topic has been divided into four sections: origins, production, trade, and consumption. This allows for systematizing and synthesizing the historiographical knowledge of the subject. It emphasizes the transcontinental scope of this Commodity chain.
