Resumen
KUNTZ FICKER, Sandra. La redistribución de los cauces del comercio exterior mexicano: una visión desde la frontera norte (1870-1929). Frontera norte [online]. 2000, vol.12, n.24, pp.111-157. ISSN 2594-0260.
Within the framework of Mexico's opening to international trade that took place between 1870 and 1929, the United States displaced Mexico's main commercial associates and become its dominant partner in foreign trade. The intensification of trade relationship between Mexico and the United States contributed to a drastic redistribution of foreign trade channels within Mexican territory, favoring Tampico's trading port and the northern' fringe border to the detriment of traditional international trade channels. The purpose of this article is to reconstruct the evolution of commercial flows in the northern border region to show the unequal impact that trade redistribution had over different border customs, and the severe fluctuations to which the later were subject during the period studied, exploring the diverse factors that influenced this process.
