RAMIREZ SANCHEZ, Miguel Ángel. Monterrey's White Unions (1931-2009). Frontera norte [online]. 2011, vol.23, n.46, pp.177-210. ISSN 2594-0260.
Mexican white unions are the equivalent to the socalled yellow unions of Spain and France and employee representation plans ("company unions") in the United States and Canada. All of them are usually conceived as employer-prone labor organizations. Until recently, Mexican white unions were just regional phenomena, being restricted to the industrial city of Monterrey, where they have been an important force. Yet, in agreement with the crisis and reorganization of Mexican trade unionism and the opening of the Mexican political system, they are becoming an important force at the national level.
Palabras llave : Trade unionism; employee representation plans; industrial relations; paternalism; Monterrey.
