Resumen

Patients with symptoms of unstable angina who attend the emergency area; come with a clinical picture of more than 12 hours of evolution and are subjected to this type of treatment to improve their clinic.

Objective:

To assess whether invasive angioplasty treatment is effective in patients with unstable angina more than 12 hours of evolution.

Material and methods:

Observational, descriptive, correlational cross-sectional study of prevalence, comprised of clinical records of 283 patients who underwent angioplasty is the period 2012-2015. Demographic and clinical characteristics were recorded, medication use. Results were analyzed during the hospital stay and late one month, 6 months and one year.

Results:

The universe consisted of 283 patients admitted to the emergency area for acute coronary syndrome who underwent the treatment of invasive angioplasty. The sample consists of 99 patients diagnosed with unstable angina of more than 12 hours of evolution, of which 75 (75.8%) are male; 24 (24.2%) are female. The post-intervention complications were, on average, 24.24%, with a mortality rate of less than 1%.

Conclusion:

This study confirms that angioplasty is effective for treating patients with unstable angina with a clinic more than 12 hours of evolution therapeutic procedure.
