A feature of suppositional arguments is that a conclusion is drawn on the basis not just of assertives or statements, but of an argument. To cover suppositional arguments, many authors (Freeman, Fisher, Hitchcock) have proposed to expand the concept of a premise so that it includes not only assertives or statements but also arguments. In this paper, some of the consequences of this approach for the theory of arguments are explored.
