Resumen

LANDINI, Fernando. Beliefs of Argentine extension agents about extension and rural innovation. Perf. latinoam. [online]. 2022, vol.30, n.59.  Epub 24-Abr-2023. ISSN 0188-7653.  https://doi.org/10.18504/pl3059-004-2022.

A questionnaire including sociodemographic questions and a Likert-type scale named Beliefs about Extension and Innovation was used to assess quantitatively Argentine extension agents’ beliefs about extension and innovation. The sample included 608 participants from the public sector. Results show the prevalence of a conception about extension as a process of horizontal dialogue and inter-institutional coordination, even though a third agrees with a transfer-of-technologies approach (ToT). Women tend to score lower in ToT and more in self-critical attitude. In general, a ToT approach connects with a more simplistic view of reality, which contrasts with a more complex understanding, derived from a self-critical attitude.

Palabras llave : rural extension; innovation; transfer of technologies; dialogue; participation.
