Resumen

CABEDO MALLOL, Vicente. De la intolerancia al reconocimiento del derecho indígena. Polít. cult. [online]. 2004, n.21, pp.73-93. ISSN 0188-7742.

Throughout their history, Latin American states have ignored and marginalized the indigenous peoples present in their territory. A clear example of this intolerance can be seen in the imposition of state law on those peoples, which had previously resolved their conflicts in accordance with their own legal systems, based on their own views of the world. In the late 20th century, the constitutions of Latin America began to recognize ethnic and cultural diversity and, consequently, the collective rights of indigenous peoples, including their right to their own systems of law for resolving conflicts.

Palabras llave : legal plurality; indigenous law; juridical monism; ethnic and cultural diversity.
