This article analyzes the fragmentation of Hispanic America in a plurality of countries after its Independence. To that end it takes into consideration eight factors or causation levels (administrative, economic and political). Its sections seek to substantiate the hypothesis of the systemic and multifinal nature of the disintegration of the former Spanish colony.
