This essay asks about the problems the Anthropocene era has posed to historical time. How can we understand the copresence of two incommensurable measures of time? On the one hand, we have the time of the world (history) and, on the other, the time of the earth (Anthropocene). This experience of the disarticulation of temporality is the expression of crisis situations. To reflect on this current crisis, we study the temporality of “the simultaneous, from the non-simultaneous”, which is the fundamental experience of history. To reflect on these two times that walk in parallel, we go through the ways in which the temporality of time expressed in “the simultaneous of the non-simultaneous” has had from Homer to the contemporary era through Christian time.
