Resumen

ALCALDE, Gabriel  y  BURCH, Josep. Implementing Private Law in the Management of Public Museums in Catalonia. Gest. polít. pública [online]. 2016, vol.25, n.2, pp.591-626. ISSN 1405-1079.

The aim of this article is to analyze how the public administration of museums came to be questioned and eventually transformed, especially with regard to the use of instrumental bodies. As a result of this analysis applied to Catalan museums, we have observed that such procedures have led to these museums becoming subject to various degrees- to private law. Although these changes were presumably made in order to achieve greater quality, efficacy and efficiency in the services offered by these centres, it is also clear that these changes are the result of particular ideological approaches associated with certain views regarding public administration and not a response to the individual needs of each museum.

Palabras llave : museums; memorials and monuments; government agencies and bodies; public administration.
