Resumen
PIO-LEON, J. F.; CHAVEZ-HERNANDEZ, M. G. y ALVARADO-CARDENAS, L. O.. Bourreria ritovegana (Ehretiaceae, Boraginales), a new species from Sinaloa, Mexico. Polibotánica [online]. 2021, n.52, pp.1-9. Epub 18-Oct-2021. ISSN 1405-2768. https://doi.org/10.18387/polibotanica.52.1.
Bourreria ritovegana, a species endemic to Sinaloa belonging to B. spathulata-species group, is described as new for science. This novel species is similar in foliar and some floral traits to B. spathulata and B. rubra, but differs from both by qualitative and quantitative characters (e.g. size and shape of calyx and corolla, and length of pedicels), in addition to its northernmost distribution. A dichotomous key is presented for the species in the B. spathulata-group, as well as a comparative chart and photographs with related species.
