With the exception of certain social groups, where we find almost the same conditions existing in European towns of the old regimen -high rates of authenticity, transmissible patronymics, small size churches, relatively stable towns-, the technique of family reconstruction has not prospered in Latin America. In this study the objections to the family reconstruction method are analyzed and, based on a developed concept framework to board the constant units of the social and relation organization widely studied among the rural towns of the meso-american cultural tradition in Mexico and some regions of Central America. Solutions to overcome the apparent obstacles of the Louis Henry method are put forward, at least in order to be able to set it up in towns of such kind.
