VAZQUEZ DELGADO, Blanca Delia y PALOMARES LEON, Humberto. Condiciones del consumo e ingreso de la población de Piedras Negras, Coahuila. Pap. poblac [online]. 2002, vol.8, n.32, pp.139-163. ISSN 2448-7147.
This work is assuming that the consumption patrons have been the outcome from the socioeconomic structure, and for that reason they identify certain conditions of the welfare reached in a society. The existence of commuting markets of consumption, under conditions of differentiation and integration, allows population to discriminate between goods and services that provide different scales of quality and satisfaction to their necessities. This circumstance, nevertheless, demonstrates with greater magnitude the differences in the standards of welfare in societies of heterogeneous character, as well as in unequal distribution of income, but also an unequal access to consumption markets. This means that the use and social value of the act of consuming is the deepest element of inequality in the familiar income along Mexico-United States border.
